Hithere, I have been having multiple problems with my laptop, even after doing clean re-instal twice. When ever I plug in the charger, it says-plugged in, not charging. I googled the problem and read about the following advice in a thread here, it advised me to shutdown the laptop, take out the battery, restart, go to device manager, under batteries, uninstall Microsoft ACPI- Complaint
Selectit then right click and press uninstall. It should then quickly refresh device manager and you will no longer see " Microsoft ACPI-compliant control method battery ". Also the battery icon on the taskbar will be missing. Now while in device manager Click Action and then scan for hardware changes.
ConnectAC Adapter. Power on the laptop. Open the Control Panel and select Device Manager. Under the Batteries category, right-click all instances of Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery , and select Uninstall, even if you have only one (I had two, as shown in figure 1 below) Shutdown. Disconnect AC adapter.

Disabled/enabled battery driver multiple times, un installed and rebooted multiple times. looked for updates for drivers and windows, none available Generated battery report to see if anything was off
Ijust had the "plugged in, not charging" problem with my Dell Latitude E6410 64-bit Windows 7 Pro laptop connected to a E-port docking station. I took out the battery while the machine was running as suggested above in one of the posts. When I put the battery back in I got the Dell message:

Modern Lithium Ion batteries do not have "memories" like the old Ni-Cads and others did. Once the battery is charged to 100%, the carging circuitry will trickle charge it to keep it at 100%.
Itsays it's "plugged in, not charging" and I've tried to shut down-disconnect the adapter-remove battery-reconnect the charger-turn on-uninstall the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery-shut down-insert battery-turn on, but nothing has worked so far. Also, when I turn on the laptop, it turns on and off a couple of times before
